Executive director Keith Sutton traveled to Grenada, Mississippi, to attend the Bass Pro Shops’ Crappie Masters National Championship tournament, which kicked off F3’s Tournaments for Tomorrow (T4T) initiative. The T4T program allows tournament organizations and fishing clubs to raise money for F3’s youth angling programs by requesting that participants contribute an extra dollar amount above the regular entry fee. Alternatively, organizations can “pass the hat” (or maybe a bait bucket!) at their events and ask for contributions. The Foundation wants to thank Paul Alpers and all the Crappie Masters folks for taking the lead and kick-starting this initiative with a generous $750 donation to the Foundation! For more information and to sign up for the T4T initiative, click here.

Keith also attended the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association annual conference in Punta Gorda, Florida, where he developed several new partnerships for F3 and was honored with five writing awards, including the Sharon Rushton Award for writing about youth in the outdoors. Congratulations, Keith!

The Foundation also has improved its online presence by updating the F3 website. Visit www.futurefisherman.org to view our new pages and resources geared for educators, state agencies and tournament directors.

We also have a new Facebook page where you can receive up-to-date information on what’s happening at F3. Sign up for an account at www.facebook.com if you don’t already have one, then enter Future Fisherman Foundation in the search box to find our page.

And last but not least, you’ll notice the F3 logo has changed! The “new” logo is a modernized version of the “Pass It On” logo first used when the Foundation originated in 1986. In the next few weeks, it will be phased in to replace the “fish in a box” design used when F3 was more closely affiliated with the American Sportfishing Association. You’ll soon be seeing it on publications, the website, our social media pages and elsewhere. We hope you like the new rendition.

The Future of Fishing

How are you involved in creating the next generation of anglers?
